Former Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin's wife is thrown off aeroplane 'in row over smelly nappy'

The wife of former Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has told how she was kicked off an aeroplane - because her daughter's nappy smelled too bad.

Alisa Arshavin, the ex-Russia captain's second wife, was removed from the Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Almaty, Kazakhstan, shortly after boarding.

She claims she was forced off the passenger jet by a member of the cabin crew in a row over her 10-month-old daughter Eseniya's dirty nappy.

However, the airline and other sources say the 35-year-old was made to leave for other reasons, including disruptive behaviour.

Eseniya needed her nappy changing just beofre take-off
Mrs Arshavin claims she wanted to change Eseniya's nappy shortly before take-off and was almost finished when the "fasten seatbelt" sign was put on.

She says she told cabin crew that she would put the baby back in her seat in a matter of seconds but that head attendant Anastasia Kurakina said the nappy was too smelly.

The attendant then forced her to leave the aircraft with Eseniya and an older daughter.

But other reports suggest Mrs Arshavin argued with cabin crew as soon as she boarded the plane.

Citing an unnamed source, the Russian media says Mrs Arshavin caused problems by seating her nanny - who held an economy class ticket - next to her in business class.

She is said to have offered to pay extra for the seat change before going ahead regardless when her request was refused. Her older daughter was also allowed to run amok, said the source.

According to an Aeroflot statement, she repeatedly referred to herself as a major in the Federal Security Service (FSB) and demonstrated disruptive behavior.

The altercation delayed the flight by two hours.

Arshavin played for Arsenal between 2009 and 2013
Former Gunner Arshavin, 36, divorced first wife Julia Baranovskaya in 2013 after a nine-year marriage which produced three children.

The striker was Arsenal's record signing in 2009 - at £15million.

He played for Arsene Wenger's side 105 times between 2009 to 2013. He now plays for FC Kairat in Kazakhstan's Premier League.
