The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Nuhu Gidado, has resigned, According to the report, Mr. Gidado submitted his resignation letter to Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Wednesday, citing his waning enthusiasm for the job as reason for leaving. Mr. Gidado’s departure brings to three the number of high-ranking officials that have left Governor Abubakar’s cabinet. In December 2017, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Shehu Ningi, resigned from his position. Mr. Ningi stepped down a day after Governor Abubakar presented the 2017 budget estimates to the state’s House of Assembly. The then commissioner said he left because the governor did not encourage members of his cabinet to offer advice on how to run the state. Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West has finally broken his silence after his bail application was granted by the court. MMB recalls that the embattled lawmaker was on Wednesday granted bail by a Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja. The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana admitted Dino to bail with the sum of N10m with one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds. Speaking for the first time after his bail, Dino took to his Instagram page, stating that arrest and harassment by the police started four years ago . The dividend of N1.50 kobo per share paid represents 45kobo increase compared to the N1.05kobo dividend declared for the 2016 financial year.
