The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Nuhu Gidado, has resigned, According to the report, Mr. Gidado submitted his resignation letter to Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Wednesday, citing his waning enthusiasm for the job as reason for leaving. Mr. Gidado’s departure brings to three the number of high-ranking officials that have left Governor Abubakar’s cabinet. In December 2017, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Shehu Ningi, resigned from his position. Mr. Ningi stepped down a day after Governor Abubakar presented the 2017 budget estimates to the state’s House of Assembly. Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West has finally broken his silence after his bail application was granted by the court. MMB recalls that the embattled lawmaker was on Wednesday granted bail by a Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja. The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana admitted Dino to bail with the sum of N10m with one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds. Speaking for the first time after his bail, Dino took to his Instagram page, stating that arrest and harassment by the police started four years ago . The Kogi lawmaker, however, reiterated that he is unshaken and cannot be destroyed. “The Police illegal arrest and harassment did not start now. This was four years ago. A lady was hit by a stray bullet during a gun battle between policemen and armed robbers in Sapele area of Delta state. The police officers responded to a distress call from a vigilante who sighted some thieves climbing a fence in the area. A s soon as the policemen arrived, the robbers shot at them while trying to escape. The police officers responded back by shooting back at them. In the course of the fire fight, a lady who came out early in the morning to help her neighbor cook for a party – was hit by a stray bullet in the head. The policemen on discovering that the lady was hit – rushed her to the hospital where she was treated and has been discharged.

The newly sworn-in Vice Chairman of Irepo Local Council Development Area, Adeyemo Ojelade, and one of his political associates, Adediwura, died in a motor accident few hours after his swearing in on Monday May 14th. The politicians were returning from Ibadan, the state capital, where they attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas and 35 Local Council Development Areas of the state. The accident occurred at Adefila Village, along Ogbomoso – Igbeti Road in the Oke-Ogun area of the state. According to reports, the accident occurred after one of the tyres of the Honda car in which the politicians were traveling in, burst on motion causing the car to summersault several times in the process. The remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue awaiting their families arrangement for their burial.

Police in Uganda have arrested two men after they apprehended with bodies of roasted babies. The men at different times reportedly abducted the babies, roasted them and were to used them for ritual purposes. Twitter user @solomonkibs73 who shared the photos of the men online, wrote ''Men caught with dried babies Wrapped with different clothes And ropes. The death has occurred of popular Yoruba actress, Aisha Abimbola. The actress, who was popular for her role in the “Omoge Campus” movie, passed away in Canada on May 15, 2018. She passed away after a battle with cancer. Her death was confirmed by fellow actress, Bisola Badmus Adunni, who announced her death on her Instagram page. Abimbola shot into limelight with her role in the Bola Igida movie, “Omoge Campus.” Before then, she had featured in “Eje Adegbenro,” a film produced by Prince Jide Kosoko. She was also popular for her roles in TV series such as Papa Ajasco, Awerijaiye produced by Deji Rotimi, and Wale Adenuga Super Story.
