Former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maharazu Tsiga, says Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, was not entitled to an exemption certificate as at the time of her request in 2019. Tsiga, the NYSC DG at January 2009 made the disclosure while speaking to Premium Times. The online investigation platform had accused Adeosun of “parading a fake NYSC exemption certificate.” Adeosun is yet to react to the allegation. The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Nuhu Gidado, has resigned, According to the report, Mr. Gidado submitted his resignation letter to Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Wednesday, citing his waning enthusiasm for the job as reason for leaving. Mr. Gidado’s departure brings to three the number of high-ranking officials that have left Governor Abubakar’s cabinet. Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West has finally broken his silence after his bail application was granted by the court. MMB recalls that the embattled lawmaker was on Wednesday granted bail by a Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja. The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana admitted Dino to bail with the sum of N10m with one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds. Speaking for the first time after his bail, Dino took to his Instagram page, stating that arrest and harassment by the police started four years ago . A lady was hit by a stray bullet during a gun battle between policemen and armed robbers in Sapele area of Delta state. The police officers responded to a distress call from a vigilante who sighted some thieves climbing a fence in the area. A s soon as the policemen arrived, the robbers shot at them while trying to escape. The police officers responded back by shooting back at them. In the course of the fire fight, a lady who came out early in the morning to help her neighbor cook for a party – was hit by a stray bullet in the head. The policemen on discovering that the lady was hit – rushed her to the hospital where she was treated and has been discharged.

The newly sworn-in Vice Chairman of Irepo Local Council Development Area, Adeyemo Ojelade, and one of his political associates, Adediwura, died in a motor accident few hours after his swearing in on Monday May 14th. The politicians were returning from Ibadan, the state capital, where they attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas and 35 Local Council Development Areas of the state. The accident occurred at Adefila Village, along Ogbomoso – Igbeti Road in the Oke-Ogun area of the state. According to reports, the accident occurred after one of the tyres of the Honda car in which the politicians were traveling in, burst on motion causing the car to summersault several times in the process. The remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue awaiting their families arrangement for their burial.

Police in Uganda have arrested two men after they apprehended with bodies of roasted babies. The men at different times reportedly abducted the babies, roasted them and were to used them for ritual purposes. The death has occurred of popular Yoruba actress, Aisha Abimbola. The actress, who was popular for her role in the “Omoge Campus” movie, passed away in Canada on May 15, 2018. She passed away after a battle with cancer. Her death was confirmed by fellow actress, Bisola Badmus Adunni, who announced her death on her Instagram page. Abimbola shot into limelight with her role in the Bola Igida movie, “Omoge Campus.” Before then, she had featured in “Eje Adegbenro,” a film produced by Prince Jide Kosoko. She was also popular for her roles in TV series such as Papa Ajasco, Awerijaiye produced by Deji Rotimi, and Wale Adenuga Super Story. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, arrested four suspected Internet fraudsters. The suspects are: Ale Daniel, Tunde Badmus, Adams Tunde Adedeji and Ajiboye Gbenga. The quartet were arrested in the Lekki area of Lagos State for various offences bordering on cybercrimes and money laundering. Their arrest followed intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities, alleging that they were living flamboyantly without known sources of income. Items recovered from them, include exotic cars and charms. Speaking on the renewed clampdown on Internet fraudsters, the Lagos Zonal Head of the Commission, Akanninyene Ezima, said: “It is to checkmate the activities of these undisciplined elements who want to reap where they did not sow. These compartments are found beneath the skin, as well as lining the gut, lungs, blood vessels and muscles, and join together to form a network supported by a mesh of strong, flexible proteins. New analysis published in the journal Scientific Reports is the first to identify these spaces collectively as a new organ and try to understand their function. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested and grilled a JAMB official based in Makurdi, Philomina Chieshe, who claimed that a snake swallowed N36m. The money was part of the proceeds of the sale of scratch cards. Detectives at the commission told newsmen that Chieshe revealed that the money was collected in instalments from her by her Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Umoru. In one of the statements she volunteered to the EFCC, Chieshe who is a clerk in the Makurdi office of JAMB, was said to have revealed that the coordinator usually asked her to withdraw proceeds of the sale of the cards from her account in two banks. In the statement she made to the EFCC under oath, Chieshe said, “This money that I withdraw, the coordinator used it for the office and some time for himself.” She claimed that she had been warning Umaru that it was wrong to use the money for miscellaneous expenses in the office or for private purposes but he would not listen.
