How 'groundbreaking' number crunching found path of Flight 370 Debris spotted in Indian Ocean The announcement came the same day as Australian officials said they had spotted two objects in the southern Indian Ocean that could be related to the flight, which has been missing since March 8 with 239 people aboard. One object is "a grey or green circular object," and the other is "an orange rectangular object," the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said. Mexico: 2 Pregnant Indigenous Women Denied Help MEXICO CITY March 2, 2014 (AP) Mexico's National Commission of Human Rights is investigating two possible cases of negligence involving indigenous woman giving childbirth, one of whom died. The commission said Sunday the woman died in the southern state of Oaxaca on Tuesday, a year after slipping into a coma from an infection contracted when scissors were left inside her womb. She developed went into a coma in February 2013, several days after delivering twins by cesarean section at a rural hospital. In another case, the commission says an 18-year-old indigenous woman gave birth in the bathroom of a shelter next to a hospital in Oaxaca's southern Sierra because she was refused medical care. Mexicans were outraged by two similar cases in October, including a woman photographed giving birth on a medical clinic lawn.

Sani Abacha was on the list. Abacha's inclusion sparked lots of controversy and Prof. Soyinka even rejected the award. Topic: Heavy Casualties In Maiduguri Car Bombing  Several persons have been killed by a bomb planted, by suspected Boko Haram sect militants, in a pickup van carrying firewood. The huge explosion which occurred around 6 pm Nigerian time in a densely populated Bintu-Suga area along Airport road in Gomari neighborhood killed and injured unspecified number of people according to security agencies evacuating bodies of the dead and injured in the area. Residents are panicked since the sect has recently attacked several locations in the state and neighboring Adamawa state.  The bombers targeted a market place and packed TV viewing center in the attack. Security agents  have been drafted to the scene  of the attack as panicked resident flee in droves.

The family of the late M.K.O Abiola has rejected the posthumous Centenary award to the winner of the 1993 Nigeria’s presidential election.
