Kemi Adeosun NYSC could not have issued minister's certificate, says Ex-DG

Former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maharazu Tsiga, says Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, was not entitled to an exemption certificate as at the time of her request in 2019. Tsiga, the NYSC DG at January 2009 made the disclosure while speaking to Premium Times. The online investigation platform had accused Adeosun of “parading a fake NYSC exemption certificate.” Adeosun is yet to react to the allegation. But the NYSC said Adeosun did apply for an exemption certificate adding that it would investigate the document she is currently parading. The Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Nuhu Gidado, has resigned, According to the report, Mr. Gidado submitted his resignation letter to Governor Mohammed Abubakar on Wednesday, citing his waning enthusiasm for the job as reason for leaving. Mr. Gidado’s departure brings to three the number of high-ranking officials that have left Governor Abubakar’s cabinet. In December 2017, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Shehu Ningi, resigned from his position. Mr. Ningi stepped down a day after Governor Abubakar presented the 2017 budget estimates to the state’s House of Assembly. The then commissioner said he left because the governor did not encourage members of his cabinet to offer advice on how to run the state. Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West has finally broken his silence after his bail application was granted by the court. MMB recalls that the embattled lawmaker was on Wednesday granted bail by a Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja. The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana admitted Dino to bail with the sum of N10m with one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds. Speaking for the first time after his bail, Dino took to his Instagram page, stating that arrest and harassment by the police started four years ago . The Kogi lawmaker, however, reiterated that he is unshaken and cannot be destroyed. “The Police illegal arrest and harassment did not start now. This was four years ago. A neurologist with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Dr. Nura Alkali, has opined that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris’ struggle during his ‘infamous’ speech at an event in Kano could be as a result of ‘brain block’. MMB recalls that in the footage trending online, the IGP, who visited Kano on Monday to commission the Police Technical Intelligence unit in the state, struggled consistently to pronounce some of the words in his text. The clip stirred up reactions online as some Nigerians described the development as ’embarrassing and a shame to the Nigeria Police Force.
