Anambra is a piece of cake compare to Fidelity Bank
It
is about three weeks to the governorship elections in Anambra. So far,
it has delivered on its fair share of political and entertainment value.
As part of YNaija2015′s election coverage, we have assessed the
candidates, and provided rolling analysis and news on the candidates and
where they have been, what they have been up to, and what they are
saying.
Willie Obiano is the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. He recently had a chat with selected journalists. He spoke on issues such as the current state of Anambra, the field of candidates, and what to expect in an Obiano governorship. Enjoy our top seven.
He is having a good time
For real, he is.
“I enjoy every bit of it because, for me, it is expository. Though as a son of the soil, I had visited many parts of the State before, the campaign has afforded me the opportunity of visiting more places.”
On election strategy, he is more grassroots than CNN
Yes, the subject of the international broadcaster, the Cable News Network (CNN) came up.
“I am confident that before the election proper, I would have visited all the 177 communities in the State. If you have followed my campaign, you would have noticed that it is more of grassroots sensitization. Some people say I should buy airtime in all the electronic media, including CNN.”
So why shun the “world’s news leader?”
“I have watched some of those adverts and my conclusion is that they are confirmation that they are not worthy to become lead men in any capacity.”
He’s referring to a fellow candidate, but we will not mention his name.
Anambra is a piece of cake, compared to Fidelity Bank
On the question of why he thought he was better than the other candidates, he said this.
“Your question boils down to what I have been talking about. In terms of experiential pedigree, I enjoy far reaching privileges among the gubernatorial candidates. As the number two man in Fidelity Bank, I was exposed to money several times bigger than what the State has.”
Oh yeah? He explained further.
“Having been the first man to become the internal auditor of Texaco Worldwide and the number two man in Fidelity Bank for nine years, I think I have more local and international experiences than those in the race.”
Draw your conclusions.
He doesn’t ‘gossip’
When a question on Labour Party candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah was about to be asked, Obiano cut in with this remark
“Please, as a matter of policy, I do not discuss individuals. I have seen adverts by people in the media castigating others and even the incumbent Governor because they want to become Governor.”
But he commented on one candidate, without mentioning his name
How do you explain this statement?
“I have seen a particular candidate calling on Governor Obi to account for the 3 trillion he has received as Governor. For a person at that level to peddle such falsehood smacks of supreme mischief or very poor calculations.”
Well, that would be the All Progressives Congress candidate, Senator Chris Ngige.

He did it again…
“If a Senator did not pass one bill for three years at the senate, if you vote for him, he will simply continue the slumber in Government House.”
And, he has a message for all Anambarians
“Do not vote for people because they share money, for they will steal your money to recover their expenses.”
